Facing the Growing Threat of Bioterrorism

Dr. Steven Block is a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Biophysical Society. He is a recipient of the Max Delbrück Prize in Biological Physics from the American Physical Society, the Young Investigator Prize and the Outstanding Investigator in Single Molecule Biophysics Award from the Biophysical Society. He has served as the Biophysical Society’s National Program chair and as its president (2005-2006). Dr. Block serves as a member of JASON, a group comprised mainly of academicians who consult with the U.S. government on a variety of technical matters related to national security.
