Winslow Briggs

Minding the gap—between guard cells

Winslow Briggs is a member of the National Academy of Sciences (1974) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (1975) Briggs’s research on plant responses to light and photoreceptor systems in plants has been internationally recognized for its applications to agricultural and medical research.  He was awarded the International Prize for Biology from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (2009) and elected an Einstein Professor by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2010).
